Futures hit limit down: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/15/traders ... ogram.html

This is despite the news of 0% interest from the Fed.

Is it expected to circulate over that time only in the UK, or is it globally?

Expected in the UK according to the article, don't know about other countries.

Dang. This is gonna be a tough year if that's the case.
Also, I have a few questions to ask relating to the situation:

1. I'm uneducated sorry, but what is the difference between a cold and a flu?
2. E3 got cancelled. Why are the Olympic Games still planned to go ahead?
3. Why is the UK not shutting down schools yet? We aren't at the peak yet, but wouldn't it be effective to shut schools while the number of cases isn't too high? You know, before it surges.
4. If you catch the corona virus and survive, will your body build up immunity to it just like other diseases? As in, if you're exposed to it again, then will it not be as severe?
5. People are saying kids are less affected by the virus. What age does this fall under? Less than 18? Have any kids died to the virus so far? I know it affects elderly people more, but I can't avoid worrying about myself either.

CDC put out this notice for mass gatherings: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... id-19.html
Businesses are going to be closing more and more even though this doesn't apply, and people already live paycheck-to-paycheck. This is going to be devastating.

4. No. You won't develop antibodies after first infection. Not only that, but if you get infected a second time, the symptoms are worse, like a Heart Attack.

Official sites should be referred to in general by the way. There's a lot of misinformation about this, and that needs to be avoided. The WHO has a list of myths about the virus here: https://www.who.int/emergencies/disease ... th-busters

China only had 25 new cases today as the virus slows down in the country. The 19 Coronavirus hospitals in Wuhan closed due to lack of patients. South Korea has only 75 deaths out of over 8,000 infected and new cases are only around 70. The worst in Asia appears to be over.

In Eroupe it is a different story. Italy sees its worst day so far with 368 new deaths. At this rate they could easily surpass China. Italy also sees over 3,000 new cases with Spain and Iran both seeing over 1,000 new cases.

In America there was over 300 new cases today so the virus is roaming freely across the country. Everything is shutting down due to fear mongering.

Interesting fact: Out of the first 803 deaths in Italy 2 people were younger than 50 and nobody younger than 30 died. This virus is bad but it is mostly killing elderly people so we need to watch out for them the most.

Only time will tell if this becomes worse then the common flu (affected 41 million). I doubt it will affect as many people as it spares the young but with its accelerated nature it could kill more people.
I want to say thank you to God for every day he gives me on this planet and for the chance to be in a better place when I die.

Things aren't shutting down due to fear mongering, but in an effort to contain the virus. South Korea, Singapore and China are only on the end of the logistic curve because they have properly responded to the virus, unlike Europe and the US.

Researchers have already found covid19 to be both more contagious and deadly than the flu. The key difference why more people die from the latter is because everyone already has it so there are more infected that could potentially die to the flu's 0.1% mortality rate.
Ideas are useless if you can't make them real.

You have the nerves to call it "fear mongering" and blame your common enemy stereotypes for it, which is especially upsetting since you said you have someone in your family who's also endangered.

Speaking of China, it already had catastrophic circumstances but noone in the arrogant first world cared at all ... until it came to us. Chinese people obviously had less problems with applying harsh measures than our Western civilization, and now we get a rude awakening.

There's no way of telling how long this will last, and if we cross the peak in a few months just as China did. But we need to do everything possible to keep the damage contained. These days are somewhat unsteady and there's nothing as important as human lives and you should know that. And as I also said, it's about gaining time for research required to develop vaccines and medicines.

UBI is getting a lot more mainstream traction. It's now bipartisan. I like the idea of it as a security fund, more than a regular payment. It'd be great if money was set aside and funds were released during emergencies so there's no fears about jobs while people should be staying home and preparing. Mitt Romney just endorsed a one time payment of $1,000: https://nypost.com/2020/03/16/mitt-romn ... ronavirus/

This virus is going to hurt, and leave the economy and health care system in shambles.

Due to a COVID-19 isolation campaign, I'm among many staff at work who is going to be working from home until further notice. That means I'm going to have to set up "multi-factor authentication" on my home computer, though it could be difficult to set up. I'm presumably going to have to make a phone call and be transferred to technical support just to get authorized. After that, however, I think it should be manageable at home.

My sister has been at Oxford since late January and planned to come back in April. That's also deadified now. We're trying to get her home as soon as possible but we don't even know if/which trains will run at all.

China celebrates as they beat back the virus. Only 2 new cases over the last 2 days. Great news.

A vaccine was tested in America. Even Twitter mentioned this. Experts are saying it could take months to fully test it and make sure it's safe for mass use.

My home computer is now set up for work. I briefly had to go to the office to set up MFA, but now I am good. The only challenge now is that my virtual desktop supports only one monitor, so I have half as much screen space.

Those who can't work at all are still getting paid.

Trump wants to send every American a stimulus money package within 2 weeks. As businesses and jobs shut the the extra money would help. Both Republicans and Democrats support this. I hope it gets done.
