What would you say is the most broken powerup?

Powerups. They're a fundamental gameplay mechanic in Mario games, let alone SMBX. Various ones exist that allow for different things to happen, such as allowing you to take a hit, take off into the skies, or even throw hammers that can pretty much defeat many enemy NPCs.

As many powerups there are in SMBX, there's got to be some that are so good, that you'd probably think they're broken, even moreso to the point where sometimes you can just break levels wide open using one. While there are certain level-specfic broken powerups (such as the Super Leaf in an overworld level as you can just fly over most of it), there's got to be a powerup that is at least broken in many levels, as opposed to one specific level.

Out of all the powerups in the game, which would you say is the most broken, and why?

Obviously the Lakitu Shoe in my Opnion. It's like the Super Leaf, without the requirement of running first and it flies way longer.

Hammer Suit and Tanooki Suit are very strong but far from being broken if kept in mind by the designer just a bit.
Black Yoshi is overpowered but not ridiculously.
But yeah the Lakitu Shoe is straight up broken. Infinite flight with no momentum needed to be gained...

The Tanooki Suit allows you to clip through regular walls and floor and can easily avoid a long spike hazard through glitches.

Ice flower when the level is either full of normally unkillable enemies or flatlands with lava.

I used to skip quite many levels with the lakitu shoe (say, I probably couldn't beat Ultimate Utopia without it). But still it's far from trivial because you must not get hit by anything at all.

I’d say the hammer suit since it can kill nearly any enemy in the game. We seriously need a "nohammer" option on npcs to nerf this power up. It also ruins some bosses making then really easy to beat. The lakitu shoe in my opinion isn’t as overpowered since the hammer suit is more effective at destroying enemies.

One can kill any any that a hammer can with a tanooki suit. The Hammer/Bomb Suit blocks fire while ducking, but the Tanooki Suit can clip any to any wall that has at least three blocks of headspace.

Fake SMBX hammer suit is really powerful.
It can dodge snifit bullets, all things in smbx it dodges, hammers, wart bubbles and rinkas

The Lakitu's Shoe removes all semblence of difficulty from overworld levels because you can just fly over them. while the Hammer Suit can kill nearly any enemy NPC and can absolutely break certain levels open, especially enemy spam.

It's good for me that powerups like that are the way they are already. I always try a way to skip everything and beat episodes faster, since I dead hate challenges. They just ruin my day.

I'd say billy gun and flamethrower are quickly stretched to their limits when the screen is crowded. Its fire rate is great but not that great.

(also flamethrower sometimes stops firing after a spinjump)

Tanooki is way more versatile than the Hammer suit, which is only better at taking down bosses.

I also think that the Tanooki is the best powerup in the game. Especially when playing as Toad, because his double jump makes it easier to avoid bottomless pits.
