This looks pretty cool. I especially adore the fence in the first Screenshot. While I always love Episodes who actually have own Antagonists made up,
I'm not sure about this "Burns Sister" based on the Head. It doesn't seem to fit to well with the Mario Aeatetic, but that's just opnion.
Screenshots look cool, I'll have download and play through this.
BTW, how did you acquire my pipe gfx (the ones in the desert screenshot)? I don't think I ever actually uploaded them, unless you got them from MKA? Coincidentally, the level the pipes were being used in also used the desert tiles (which I didn't make) you've used here, now I don't mind this at all but do make sure you've given a list of appropriate credits!
Also what version is this episode / demo for? I suspect "pre 3" refers to any version before beta 3 but I don't want to assume anything
It cannot happen in Beta 3 because in Beta 3 require.lua didn't exist. Remember to NOT install SMBX2 over existing installations, but instead into a separate folder, then moving your episodes over.
Ideas are useless if you can't make them real.
All my assets from packs and episodes are free to use for non-Novaverse levels and projects, as long as proper credit is given.

I have always had each SMBX version separated in different folders, because I know that there are episodes that are compatible with a specific version.

That's good practice! Very nice. Though it doesn't address the fact that require.lua literally did not exist in Beta 3, so the error you previously posted could not have come from a clean Beta 3. Could it perhaps be a different but similar looking error that you're seeing on Beta 3?
Worth noting is that it seems like the copy of lineguide from the episode is what's trying to load npcconfig_core from a folder structure that didn't exist in Beta 3. So if the error truly is the same aside from the lines referring to require.lua and references to scripts rather than LuaScriptsLib, then the error lies with the version of lineguide.
SMBX2b4 needs custom Lotus back
and old APIs need to stop being deprecated
Customlotus' code is pretty abysmal and hard to use. Not to mention the fact that it was written by the person who drove our head developer off the internet. Anyone's free to write a replacement, but I hope this clears up our lack of enthusiasm in continuing to support it.

this is completely false, Return to Dinosaur Land uses an SMW-styled player costume (not 100% the original one, but whatevs) and even mimicks the game's structure to a great extent, so it definitely counts as an SMW styled episode.
Your project looks cool and interesting though, I must say your graphical skills are quite advanced.
