Me too. They fly very fast and scared me a lot when I was little. I also was afraid of the colors they have in the wings... But I got over it and now, see a butterfly is boring for me...
And when I was little, I never understood why kids of that age would be afraid of clowns since they don't scared me never, neither a bit.

Maybe because of the player death sound

Fear of being out in the open!

Postby DocMario » Mon Dec 31, 2018 2:36 am

My mother and grandmother both were diagnosed with a weird syndrome called "Agoraphobia". It is the absolute fear of being out in open spaces - the phobia of outdoors. Though Nana showed the symptoms at a very late age - probably in her 80s, my mother always a distinct fear of being in open/crowded spaces since her teenage years.

Image

Our family doctor quotes, my mother's side shows a classic case of hereditary agoraphobia. As a child, my teacher often complained that I exhibited certain abnormal behaviors during primary school. However, with age my irrational fears left and now I don't fear being outside or with groups of people.

Is anybody else here a medically-diagnosed agoraphobic?? ( To correctly identify this disease - read this https://factdr.com/health-conditions/agoraphobia/)

I never minded falling in lava, or being cheep-chomped, but being crushed scares me for whatever reason.

Back when this computer had Windows Vista (yeah, it is very old...), it used to play a loud sound every 10 seconds from inside of the hardware when the battery was low. Something like a "BEEEEEEP". And the worst thing was that I was already scared of when a device turns off (even more because of low battery...)

That always creeped me out

I had this one childhood fear from watching Courage the Cowardly Dog when they play the scary circus theme* in a episode intro. It gave me chills. :o

*The scary circus from the episodes:
  • The Great Fusilli
  • The episode where there's this guy who make paper shadow puppets of people
  • The episode where Courage and hid family goes to Hollywood, and forced to entertain some monster or die

Very true. The 3D Mario games has a lot of unsettling deaths, like drowning in water, getting sucked under quicksand, and being electrocuted.

I had this one picture on my wall of a guy on a horse, but from far away it looked like a creepy pharaoh with a mustache. That thing terrified me until I realized what it actually was.
