Need some hardcore enemies for your last worlds/levels? Some brawny bodyguards for special power-ups and valuable items? Well, you've come to the right place!
The Elite Koopas are custom NPCs that were used in SMW Hacking ( footage), and were done before in SMBX by reghrhre in LFFTMK; but back then, there wasn't any LunaLua to make custom NPC behavior smooth and easy, so they ended up being... Weird.
Nevertheless, I made a NPC pack just for them. Have fun!

Download! (comes as a test level and its folder.)
Also! There may or may not be an update featuring their airborne versions, if I can figure out their behavior from the footages.

Can they all be killed with spinjumps?
Still using the legacy editor? Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why. And remember, Yoshis are tools to be used and discarded.

Spinjumping on them has the same effect as jumping regularly on them.
Oh, and thanks for reminding me of kill reasons! I forgot to make them immune to iceballs.

Do they have death effects? I wanted use a para hammer bro once but when it was dying it turned into a goomba so I passed. I like professional looking levels so if these have death effects I will use them. I don't want them turning into another npc when dying... They look unrealistic so I have mixed feelings but I like how they are harder to kill.

They have death effects, but... They're all the Green Beach Koopa. I couldn't figure out a way to change it.

Have you tried debugging how the variant value of smbx animations is used by the koopa effects? Just like in the lava effect example I screenshotted, you can provide more information than just ID: {id=62, variant=1}
(if they don't use variant they might use npcID which is also worth checking for and can also be passed)

I swear the red elite koopas threw the fireballs closer to themselves.
Also, another question - will you do the elite parakoopas???

im using smbx2 and for some reason they arent working for me. when I place them in it instantly crashes the level. Is the verion I have of smbx outdated?

Are you using MAGLX3 or PAL?
I just solved the problem earlier by downloading PAL before you replied. The koopas are working properly now but thanks for helping anyways.

These are really good for minibosses and maybe even stronger enemy! I haven't tried to beat all of them yet but so far they are a fun challenge. (Also, Is there a separate sprite sheet found for the SMB3 Elite Koopas?)
