Celebrity Deaths of 2016

Postby Danny » Tue Dec 27, 2016 5:29 pm

2016 has been a pretty harsh year according to a lot of people, but it seems its been the harshest on entertainment. Somewhat starting with David Bowie, and (hopefully) ending with Carrie Fisher, a lot of celebrities have passed this year, and a lot of them had huge impacts in music or film culture. It seems to be a recurring theme this year with celebrity deaths, and just when you think it goes quiet, it starts up again. It's apparent that next year we wont see an end to this, and the reason being is because we're hitting the point where all of the baby boomers (anyone born during the period that World War 2 ended) are reaching the end of their lives. Here's a complete list (I believe) of all of the celebrities that have passed this year.

Wow, there have really been that many celebrity deaths? I'm not one to watch films/series myself since I normally stick to anime, but it still feels saddening to see all of those people go.

Carrie Fisher has been the biggest hit for me. I grew up with the originals, I can't imagine Star Wars without her.

Honestly, and I don't mean this with any disrespect, but a lot of the deaths seem minor compared to the really big stars like David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Prince, George Michael, and Carrie Fisher to name a few.

Oh my god...that's a very long list. I never imagined that there would be more deaths than I thought there were this year. However, I've noticed with your list that there's a small error: Caroline Aherne didn't die on Christmas Eve, but died on the 2nd of July. It was Liz Smith that died on Christmas Eve.

Can I just make a joke here to make everyone here turn those frowns upside down? All of these people that passed away, and I'll just say,"Now why couldn't you just stay here 'till next year? Don't leave us hangin'. And you've still got lots of movies to apear in. Be pretty bad if you decide not to come back. I don't think you heard me either. Oh well."

Yeah, I should have mentioned that this was a list of mostly U.S./British/Canadian celebrities that passed. If there were some pretty big hitters in your country, feel free to share. Just goes to show how bad 2016 really was. :/
