It's nothing to compare, because there are too different things and both are great!
Fun fact: 1.4.1<2

Guys when do you understand that 1.4.1 is way to buggy to be compared into the smbx version timeline.

Also wait a second.... isn't this the VSMBX thread.

PSA: It doesn't matter what editor is going to replace the legacy one, and which is buggier whether it's PGE, 1.4.1, 2.0, or whatever. This project is basically just a hobby for me at this point and if you're interested in those other projects please post in their respective threads. Thanks.

Why not add 1*x tile sizables?
Hello, I make a lot of typos
specific people know my whereabouts though

my wifi is as useful as a brick

im more active on discord

 I'm not (completely) dead; I rarely talk because I usually have nothin to say; I'll talk when I actually have a comment I want to make, or if someone asks me somethin...

nostalgia is a beautiful thing, isn't it?

anything before 2020 is most likely me being a weirdo or an idiot.

So a VS update killed some of my code, and some parts are breaking (and fixing) when they shouldn't be, and GDI+ is obsolete which all together means that VSMBX is discontinued as far as I'm concerned. Sucks that so much progress went to waste, but PGE still exists and would be a better editor to use in the first place. I'm thinking about starting a new project though. Nothing is coded, or even planned, but I have a puzzle RPG game in mind that I would probably write in Mono.

Is the new project going to borrow any code from VSMBX that still works?

No, not really. Nothing useful supports VB code so the new project will have to be in C#, so I can't just recycle old code.

Well that's disappointing. I was really looking forward to this project. Let's hope one day, someone will make a mario level editing game, but much bigger and greater than SMBX.

No. If by some miracle I can put as much time + effort into it as I did VSMBX, I would want it to be my own IP and make money off of it.

Drat. And I never got the chance to be able to try it either. But it always stings to hear when so much development just goes up in smoke.

But I am always interested in hearing about new IPs.

I felt bad about the state the project was discontinued in so a couple weeks ago I worked at it and it became a different project. Read the OP for explanation and disclaimer. Wouldn't recommend using this for anything more than just curious inspecting lol.

Editor Download: https://mega.co.nz/#!kck0GYAD!u078z4Dk8 ... xxDwUSTXy0

Source Download: https://mega.co.nz/#!IMFjWCwS!eviSYKJPn ... 8IRGP2jqLk

[1]You will need Visual Basic 2010 or above to access and modify the source code. Resources can be found here.
[2]To prevent further errors, libZPlay will be included with all downloads from here on.

1.0.1.3
* Fixed debug prompt that showed up when loading a level.
* Fixed collision to prevent walking out of the level.
* Object preview at mouse now properly draws at the mouse when testing levels.
* Fixed camera jitter with single screen levels.
* Camera now moves all the way to the right of a level.
* HUD now adjusts to screen size.
* Increasing the level window size beyond the level size is no longer possible.
* Camera properly tracks player movement along Y axis.
* Added player debug view in the Debug window.
* Testing ends when the player falls in a pit.

sorry about the typo in the actual changelog
Does anyone have some new download links? These are expired and on Wohlsoft Documentation there isn't zip file to download
