LunaLua is useless!

Postby Neoflash » Wed Apr 06, 2016 7:44 pm

I like the idea of a program that adds a ton of new features in SMBX. That is, if I can actually use it! I download it, and I get 2 missing DLL errors like the developers were too lazy to include the DLL files for some reason. So I go online, and download the missing DLL files, and run the program again. Now I get an error that says "This application was unable to start correctly 0xc00007b". Just, how is everybody else getting this program to work? Is there some critical step I'm missing? Or is the program just defective and broken like everything else in SMBX?
Let's change the world.

I went to the LunaLua website, and I tried both the Hexed version and the Vanilla + Launcher version. Both of them had the same problem.

You sure your antivirus didn't delete the two missing DLL's? Everything you need should be bundled together.

Were the two missing DLL files these? If so, scroll down to the next post and you'll find the solution. Yes, I agree that not including the files in the first place (or even what you have to do to get them) is dumb, but that's what they decided to do.

I like how you rant about about the creators being lazy just bc like someone already said the antivirus you have on the computer deleted it. Also lunalua is not broken like everything else in smbx it actually fixes a lot of shit in it.

I wonder if we ever see a post from you which is not just complaing and ranting about something.

it can't be that since lua works fine on winXP for me (should really switch now, ik but there are 2 months left till I get a new PC so it would be a bit useless to switch for only 9 weeks)

Is it bad if I'm not surprised that you made this thread?

Again, stop making threads in a rude manner. We've warned you multiple times already.

Your topics would make great copypasta. I like the idea of a program that adds a ton of new features in addition to the original features in paint. That is, if I can actually use it! I download it, and it's impossible to use errors like the developers were too lazy to include good features for some reason. So I go online, and download the features, and run the program again. Now I get an error that says "This application was unable to start correctly 0xc00007b". Just, how is everybody else getting this program to work? Is there some critical step I'm missing? Or is the program just defective and broken like everything else on the Internet?

Also you're probably missing the critical steps mentioned above.

I know, right?

Also, while Neoflash is being rude, you have to admit that having to run a second installer can be unintuitive for newcomers since most programs only make you install one time, and there's literally nothing (that I could find) saying that the second installation is necessary.

I'm not being rude. I'm just wondering how everybody else is getting this program to work yet I'm the one unique human being who can't get it to work.
Waddle Derp wrote:OMG I FAILED INSTALLING THIS PROGRAM SO IT MUST BE USELESS!!!
If the laws of simplicity actually implied when it comes to SMBX, then I should just be able to download the zip file, and it should work like magic.

I don't know how I could've failed installing it. It's not much more than downloadng, unzipping, and running the program... At least I hope it's not. :D

I've installed both of the DLL files and it still isn't working. I even tried running the program under compatibility mode, and as an administrator. I get an error that says "This application was unable to start correctly 0xc00007b"

You can make multiple quotes in one post. Just don't make quote pyramids (multiple quotes in one quote).

I think what ZM meant, Neoflash, was to just quote both people and reply to them in the same post instead of making two separate posts to quote two separate people. You can access a list of posts from the thread that you can then quote by scrolling down while in the post editor.

The only other quoting guideline is to not quote large posts/images. Quote pyramids aren't really an issue unless you're quoting people for no reason.
