People still make a strong association with those mentioned games and him. Also being the head of the company he did allow his name to be seen on those games, and he did support them.

I think it would be more respectful towards Miyamoto to not forget all the other series he has helped to make/produce, like The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Pikmin, EarthBound, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, and anything smash related. You can remake psychedelic waluigi effect on lua btw. I've seen it done. It's just the matter of drawing the screen again in specific way.

It's always interesting to read about SMBX 2.0. Also yeah, it is fairly recent and I believe it was announced for the first time near the end of MAGLX2.
