Re: How did you discover SMBX?

I came in a little late, but I discovered SMBX between late 2013-early 2014. Mostly through [REDACTED]'s videos on SMBX episodes (most of these being Tower of Bias and boss rushes).

A good looking hub can’t change the bad design.
It's not about the levels, I'm just saying I like the hub.

Re: It's me or the activity has decreased?

Just because a forum isn't as active as you once remembered, it doesn't mean the community has died. Though, I feel the whole wave of return to activity during the 1st-2nd quarter was mostly because of two things: 1.AVLC 2.The global lockdowns due to the pandemic keeping most of us indoors for month...

Re: Nova Level Contest 2 (It begins!)

Yeah, I feel it would be better if the first rule generally stated to keep the player at 1hp excluding mounts. There are ways to "powerup" the player without giving them any health boost. Is the glance of a single super mushroom going to get the creator disqualified? There's a portion of the wording...

Re: Autumn Vanilla Level Contest

Everyone is talking about how many of the levels aren't too well designed, while I gotta say the hub is the most chill hub for a contest episode.

Re: [NPC Pack] Some NPCs I have made (Update: SMB3 Flame Chomp & Fire Nipper)

Cool, I've been wondering if Flame Chomps will finally get a chance to return to Smbx 2.0. The other NPCs also look pretty cool and accurate to their original games. Good job.

Re: Boss death help

I notice in some levels when a boss dies, some objects can be made to disappear. Is there a way to do this? I want to use this on my levels. Are you talking about the projectiles the boss spawns? You normally can create an event that causes the projectiles to despawn, but it doesn't work with all p...

Re: Unpopular Opinions/Free Speech Topic

I'm pretty sure someone said this already, but the Rick Roll meme would've been better if the internet use ALL of Rick Astley's songs instead of just the one song I only know two songs by Rick Astley: "Never Gonna Give You Up," and "Together Forever." Plus, I feel with so many of us being fully awa...

Re: SMW Beta Shark Enemy

The replacement choice for fishbones is interesting. While this shark is part of the beta Super Mario World, the fishbones AI reminds me of the Sharks from Super Mario Land 2. Actually, I do wonder if the ideas of the shark enemies were inspired by the original plans from Super Mario World?

Re: Unpopular game opinions

The damage system fits more but I honestly just love WL2’s replayability. After beating it once, you unlock a level map and you can go back and get all the treasure and find the different endings. Other Wario land games had this or something similar, but Wario land 2’s levels felt more like they we...

Re: Deprecated NPCs

There is nothing that's changed in 2.0: The deprecated NPCs are just replaced by improved versions of their former npcs. There isn't really any necessity to remove them when they've been commonly used before becoming Deprecated (except for that one Blue Beach Koopa). New Blurps and Fishbones always ...

Re: Your controversial SMBX opinion

There really shouldn't be a staple as to which SMBX version should be used. It's not really as if any version is superior to the other; SMBX 2.0, 38A, and NSMBX all have their own communities and the engines have their own flaws. There is no 100% official follow up to SMBX's original engine, even if...

Re: Your controversial SMBX opinion

This is probably just me reading through the first 3 pages and feeling nauseous doing so, but I feel I need to share this: The community is in a better spot than it was 3-4 years ago. When looking back, it feels painful everytime I try to recall what occurred. It could be because the community was n...

Re: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Mass protests and now a pride march announced means more infected people. Seems some of the people complaining of covid 19 forgot it exists. I've seen videos of protests filled with people crowding up on each other while wearing masks. There's also some concerns that the second wave of COVID-19 cou...
