Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

If the title screen is getting axed, then will the application just close itself or will there be a sort of "game over" screen to reload the episode faster?

Re: Super Mario All-Stars X Super Mario Bros. 4 Trouble At Haylon Island

It works better for my game like any SMB game! I am failing to see how music that makes the file size prohibitively large works better than music that doesn't. You lack the rhythm, on hear it's better tone! Audio quality aside, the episode is somewhere around 13GB. That is quite big - for example m...

Re: F*** Nintendo

I'm getting involved because I complain about Nintendo every single day. Mostly about Pokemon and Switch ports, but still. Rants ahead! 1. The Joycon thing was innexcusible. It literally required that you fork over cash to Nintendo anyway. 2. Switch Online actually uses Peer-to-Peer connections, whi...

But is From SMBX 1.3.0.1 or SMBX2 Beta 4?
SMBX2 Beta 4, as its on the LunaLua forums and 1.3 doesn't support Lua scripts.

Re: Efforts on preserving Flash games

Well, I usually download Flash games and use them locally on a Flash projector. On Firefox at least, you can press Ctrl+S to download the entire webpage (including both HTML and assets) and use the search bar in your file manager to locate the SWF files. It's a pain, but it works.

Re: Gaming Wishes

Please don't behead me for saying this but, bringing Wii Sports Resort to the Switch would be nice. I think that is a good idea actually, considering that lots of people bought the Wii just for Wii Sports and Just Dance. Might have to be TV only for some sports though, and won't be fully Lite compa...

Re: What's the worst thing that happened to your team in Among Us?

In my case actually being the impostor because for whatever reason I can't impostor - I like doing the jobs and try to get them over and done with as soon as possible. I often vote myself off when I end up being revealed as the impostor, and one time I inadvertently murdered somebody in front of som...

Re: Gaming Wishes

A hard Pokemon game. Insurgence was a nice change of pace when I played it and finished it in 3 months rather than 3 days like I did Sword and Shield. Also, open sourcing the Nvidia GPU driver so 3D FOSS games don't have to keep using disgusting graphics even on modern PCs (partly these graphics are...

Re: Adding Battle Mode

The reason this happens is because there are no battle maps. This in turn is because battles are a glitchy mess which don't work in SMBX2, for example the second player's character selection button is invisible and what seems to be infinite lives. If you want to play battles, download TheXTech, whic...

Re: Multiplayer

Multiplayer is broken in SMBX2. This is, once again, not true. Multiplayer works just fine in SMBX2, but not with any characters other than Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Link. Oh, I didn't know that. I just saw everywhere that it is broken. Also the battle mode doesn't t work either (from experien...

Re: Multiplayer

Multiplayer is broken in SMBX2. It still works in 1.3 and the XTech, however.

I assume it works in 38A (1.4) since that was made from the ground up but I haven't played that yet.

Re: [Playable] Minecraft Steve - Yes, this exists, for some reason

I have decided I'll give it a try in The Invasion 2, and I'm already stuck on Floating Brick Niche. Those fire piranha plants really hate me. Also, I found that the character does not work with those SWM keyhole exits. Either way, I'm enjoying so far. Heh, yeah, I also tested it on The Invasion 2. ...

I've given the snapshot a spin, and I currently have no opinion on it. That said, I think the Lava Cauldons sound like they might be useful at some point.

Re: Tables and onNPCKill

Little tip: If you want to access xpDrops from other files that load this library, you can replace local xpDrops with stats.xpDrops. Another way of doing the same thing that's a little safer is to instead create a stats.setNpcXP function that does the math internally. The benefit of this method is ...

Re: Tables and onNPCKill

Okay, it is now in library format and works perfectly fine, following the guide. --Stats.lua --NOTE TO SELF: "stat" is Levels and Experience, "stats" marks local stats = {} -- API Table. I don't have a clue what this does. local xpDrops = { } function stats.xpDrop(NPCID, reward) -- xpDrop - Adds an ...

Re: Tables and onNPCKill

Okay, so I tried localizing the OnNPCKill function. Still nothing. BUT when I moved that onNPCKill function to the main luna.lua... It works! The SMB1 koopa is declared in the luna.lua for that level, and I tried on a different level afterwards, where the SMB1 koopa wasn't defined, proving that the ...
