It might just be a BGO.

What you know as "1.4" was made by a chinese standalone developper who went like "I remake the game with my own code and add some extra stuff, and call it a continuation of SMBX". Well in fact, it's not a continuation but more like an alternative SMBX. It has its own features and it's not compatible...

If you want to remaster it without recreating every single level then you need X2. The other is not compatible.

it's a somewhat 1.3.0.1 episode. If you want to be safe you can also use SMBX2 Beta 4.
